Growing up with a father favouring Jazz, Footsteps played clarinet and saxophone throughout his school years and later taught himself to play the piano. This first-rate artist developed an intricate taste for rhythms and beats; reggae, afrobeat, soul and dancehall all squeeze into his shaken cocktail of taste.
He started his career working with Jammer’s collective BBK and had his first release in 679.
He was part of Wiley’s Eski Records and also very active in the funky house scene where he had success working with a label, signing new artists and doing remixes for major labels like Universal. His experience and skills as a producer, writer and engineer, bring depth to the new artists he works with to help them also find their sound. He worked with Yxng Bane in the initial songs that got him noticed and signed by Disturbing London. “The Message” was also on the Intent Movie soundtrack.
His solo career started with the Bruk Out/ Polydor summer hit “Maxi Dress” featuring Shakka, Ycee and Moelogo. It was followed by 4 successful singles that were all supported by the commercial UK and international radio, showcasing his dancehall and afro swing flavours with big beats and catchy hooks.
The latest single “Bad Breed ft Big Zeeks” gained support at Radio 1,1xtra, Kiss, Capital Xtra as well as with DJs in the US and the Caribbean. This track is an excellent Dancehall reggae music that would make you feel like step it. The flavour of afro-beats embellishes the song in a mesmerising way. This amazing creativity reflected on this track bestows a next level enjoyment to the audience.
