The story of The Art Monks began in 2016 when AndyK and Monk Davis first collaborated as members of the band Los Angelenos. Their friendship, which spans over a decade, has been the foundation of their musical partnership. Monk Davis, a formally trained musician from the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans, brings his rich musical heritage to the duo. Having worked with esteemed artists like Joe Sample, he contributes his songwriting and keyboard skills to The Art Monks.
Inspired by legendary acts such as Parliament/Funkadelic, D’Angelo, and Prince, The Art Monks fuse R&B, soul, funk, and pop into a fresh and vibrant sound. Their self-titled album, released on June 15, 2023, features nine original tracks that encapsulate the essence of their music.
