Christmas Town

by The Imaginaries

The Imaginaries is an Americana band formed in the open plains of Oklahoma. Consisting of husband & wife duo Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) & Maggie McClure (piano, vocals), their debut album was released March 26, 2021. It was recorded in famed Muscle Shoals, AL with legendary “Swampers” & serves as both an introduction to The Imaginaries and the beginning of their journey as a band after both singer-songwriters have enjoyed their successes as solo artists. Their songs are filled with effortless harmonies, heartfelt lyrics & real-life lessons. Maggie, with her subtly sweet vocals and piano-driven style, fuses seamlessly with Shane’s blues-rock grit to form their unique blend of Americana/Singer-Songwriter music.

“Christmas Town” by The Imaginaries is an amazing combination of voices of eminent male and female voices getting sufficiently high-toned. This joyous track fills us with the Christmas spirit and makes us believe that a fairy tale is somewhere nearby. “Christmas Town” was co-written by Maggie McClure and Shane Henry as well as Grammy-award winning songwriter Jeff Silbar, who’s worked with Kenny Rogers, Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton, and wrote Bette Midler’s classic “Wind Beneath My Wings.” This song was recorded at Cardinal Song in OKC and Windjammer Studios in Norman, OK. The cover art and Candyland style board game featured in the video was designed by famed Disney animator James Lopez. “We were inspired to write ‘Christmas Town’ after spending many holiday seasons in Chickasha and experiencing the magic of the holiday season they bring firsthand,” says Maggie McClure. “Chickasha truly is the quintessential ‘Christmas Town’ with the Festival of Light, the giant Leg Lamp downtown, the warm and welcoming community, and so much more. We are excited to partner with the Chickasha Economic Development Council to help promote all that Chickasha has to offer throughout the holiday season.”

“Oh I’m so looking forward to

Spending the holidays with you

You know it’s been too long of a time

Another year’s come and gone

I’m glad to be back where I belong”

Concentrating on the video of the song, the director of Chickasha Economic Development Council Jim Cowan. says, “The Imaginaries’ video showcases Chickasha as the true ‘Christmas town’ and all of the festivities that the city has to offer this time of year, ” “The Imaginaries will always be a local favourite during the holidays, but we love that their music is heard all over the world too.” Overall, “Christmas Town” is a joyful song. Be sure to listen to this song to increase the festive glow of this christmas season.
