“Erik Mut” is a man who broke the shackles of Western society and walked his own path of rebellion, adventure, leadership and musical passion. His powerful Folk Punk project Erik & the Worldly Savages musically and lyrically reflects his expressed philosophy of seeking personal freedom, cutting ties with the past, reorganising your mind and embracing life wholeheartedly.
‘Erik & the Worldly Savages’ is for all who dream of travelling the world forever. This counterculture music breaks cultural boundaries with a “Burn My Life” video. Using archival video and photographs from his childhood and youth, Eric explores his peaceful upbringing in Canada and how he sacrificed his “1st world” life to embrace an exciting life abroad. He mentioned this, “I wrote this song recalling a time in 2008 when I was leaving my life in Canada and moving to Serbia to launch Worldly Savages, become a singer-songwriter and take music seriously. I knew that I had to leave my life in Canada behind to find inspiration and possibility in a new country. At the time, somebody said that the hardest part was to get to the airport, where you could see all of your past as a finished chapter. This brings the possibility to the future.”
“Burn My Life” Weave in some powerful solos and more than a few contagious minor dance moves, and the finished product captivates and inspires in a way that is both nostalgic and refreshing. The track has many vocal layers for a very varied hook that reverberates over and over again, evoking the room and begging you to join in with its vocals, with simple yet addictive bass work to keep things heavy and the room warm.
Overall, ‘Burn My Life” is a communicative and catchy rock release with a rousing guitar sound and an overall energy that begs to be performed live. Could you turn up the volume?
