His solo debut EP ‘90s Baby: Unconscious’ is set for release in 2021, followed by his rap album ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ in collaboration with older brother and fellow rapper OC HERMO, to whom Roc Solid credits his foundations of rap knowledge. Based in the DMV, Roc Solid has worked with producers and artists including 88 (Ronald Utley), Fat Trel, Mike D’Angelo, The Late Big Weaze, Skinny Corleone, Uno Boss (Kevin Blackmon) and cameoed in a number of Wale’s music videos including ‘Bait’ and ‘Let A N*gga Know’. He cites Tupac, Outlawz, Bad Boy, Cash Money, Geto Boys and No Limit as major musical influences. Growing up in DC in the early ‘90s and ‘00s, Roc Solid got the spark for representing his city after seeing rappers from other cities featured on music shows like The Box, Rap City and 106 & Park. He says: “That made me want to tell the world how we rocking in DC, how we hustle, how we dance. I wanted to put our culture in rhymes.” He began performing at talent shows and events before, motivated by his father, eventually founding his label Hard Workin Entertainment. Roc Solid’s hustle started out old school using MySpace and burning CDs. All over DC, they’d beat the streets and hand out CDs in malls, open mics and hotspots all over the city.
